Rulebook:
Here is the link to the current official IDPA rulebook,it is revised as changes are deemed necessary.
http://www.idpa.com/Documents/IDPARulebook2005.pdf
The format is really fairly simple and speaks to the tactical side of shooting. Realistic carry equipment is the standard...no "competition only" gear is allowed.
Also, accuracy is much more important than pure shooting speed and the scoring information reflects this.
Be as fast as your sights will allow you to make good hits...Wow,that sounds familiar...right Brian?
Classifier Match:
The match details are described at these links:

We shoot them on the 5th Saturday every quarter out that Thunder Range.
The course of fire standards have not changed in 10 years and this is how we classify shooters in their divisions. Practice it as often as you can and with some specialized training it can help you become a most excellent competition pistol shooter. |

Thank you for your interest Semper, and btw folks...Semper did really excellent his first couple of times shooting IDPA with us.
His Hoffner skills and likely other training as well really paid off for him. He is a safe shooter and he makes his hits!!..you are always welcome to shoot with us as often as you can make it out. (You need to join with a membership though, like 35 bucks a year I think or $90 for three years is what I do.) |
