Whether its Police, Military, or Responsible Citizens, at Hoffners Training Academy we build nothing but extremely capable, confident, and skilled warriors and Tactical Rifle I & II was no different. In fact we completed all the movement drills and cover drills the targets were some of the best I’ve ever seen. We fight like we train and train like we fight, so we don’t step out on the range with less than one hundred percent. This group hit the ground moving, shooting, and hitting with a vengeance. The older guys got it done just like the young. Robert and Rudy shot the prone out drill (start standing low ready, safety on, kick out to prone and hit the target) they both shot an amazing 1.50 seconds which is smoking! Speaking of smoking, with the volume of fire we were putting out we had some smoking hand-guards as well. All in all every single Hoffner Operator kicked butt and made me proud to lead them on the range. Great job guys!

What a great 3 days of high speed accurate rifle training. I have no doubt that I can operate with the rifle in any situation that warrants it. The added bonus of training to transition to the pistol when the rifle failed, was what I needed to kick my training up a notch. Now I just wonder when is the next time I will get to do the zipper???

I have also posted pictures from the classes on webshots:

Brian, thanks for the class time this weekend. As you know this was my first rifle training course, I used to think why do all these people have shotguns and ARs and Ak-47 rifles. All I want to do is learn to shot my pistol correctly, which in time I did, then I thought maybe I'll try this shotgun rifle thing boy Iam glad I did and I can do it right here at home. Its great you are building this warrior fighting group here at home and I am glad myself and family are part of it, it is a good group of people you have put together. I think I may to control myself over the tac rifle thing it sure makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside and that usally gets me trouble. I did not realize that the rifle was such a great weapon. I am a hunter and thought of the rifle as such, but you sure opened my eyes to a new world about the potenial of the AR. I may be going to Victora if I have that time availible, anyway you sure know your stuff and I enjoy working with you

kick ass courses!

Women need to take these courses. You must to stand beside your man not behind him. Defend your family, friends with or without depending on your man.

Stand up for yourself!

The first day seem a little slow and ended earlier than I would of liked but having said that the second day was a blast and at a pace and intensity I would expect of a course of this calbier.

Looking forward to Tac Rifle III.

I like all weapons however the rifle is my favorite and clearly the primary weapon for allot of tactical situations.

Hoffner’s Rifle class was great I have taken them several times and amazed how I learn something entirely new or improve on previously learned tactics... every time.

Having the opportunity to collaborate and train with Brian and students is worth the cost of admission. I like the way Brian starts the class off with working thought basics and getting everyone "warmed up" then by the end of the second day the class is performing team movements and operating advanced tactics.

The weather was perfect… great class and Rudy I have bruises ...lol.

Great training, fellow warriors and weather. I have found my favorite meditation activity... being the sniper. I just have a brighter outlook on life after hitting the plate at 100 yards and can't wait to push that distance out to 500 yards.

KuhnDog, thanks for the training opportunities...I now have what looks like a really cool prison tat on my left forearm.

Thanks to all for a great time.

Brun,
Attend Hoffner pistol and rifle training and you'll hear Hoff say "be the sniper" and "be the sniper with the pistol".

Whether pistol or rifle, to become proficient with a weapon first choose your preferred cartridge, then select or build a weapon system around that cartridge. After you've built the "mission specific" weapon get to the range and practice, practice, practice. Add, delete or swap out weapon accessories as that's all part of building YOUR rifle. The old Corps chant "This is my rifle, there are many like it but this one is mine" is on the money.

For long distance rifles, stay working at 100 yards until you can place 5 consecutive shots into a 1-1/2" bullseye, times 3 sets. Go to 200 yards and repeat the drill until you're getting 5 shots x 3 sets in the 3" ring. At 300 yards it's 5 x 3 in the 6" ring. Soon, with enough time, sweat, ups and downs, you'll place 5 shot groups in the 12" ring at 500 yards.

Once marksmanship skills are in line, training progresses to moving, timed drills and learning combat breathing, pulse control, concealment, advanced land navigation, low light/no light tactics, etc.

Hoff's 2008 long distance shooter/spotter course should be interesting.

Another great weekend training. I had expected to be traveling over the weekend but my trip was canceled on Wednesday so I not only got to attend Rifle II but got away from work early on Friday afternoon and took some photos of the Rifle I class and did a little long range shooting with them.

I have posted the photos from Rifle I at:
