I've received the new Magpul "PMAG 30" AR-15 polymer magazines from LaRue Tactical and am initially impressed with the quality and redesign of the mags.
Criticisms of earlier polymer mags have been that the necks and bodies crack easily so I drop tested the mags loaded with 30 rounds of blank .223 cartridges five times from a height of 10 feet causing impact on various points of the magazines. No cracks were evident and I'll field test them over the next 30 days to see how they hold up in the field after being drop tested.
Magpul is coming up in the industry so don't dismiss PMAGS just yet... |

SemperFi, Bring them to American Defenders this Saturday and we will check them out. I want to further evaluate your EoTech magnifier setup as well.

Hoff,
Will do and I'll leave two (2) of the new generation polymags with Cecil this evening at Elite for you to inspect before American Defenders.
As you'll see, the integrated dust covers are perfect for middle-east duty which is what the USMC has requested from several 5.56 magazine manufacturers and Magpul is the first to manufacture with thorough R&D and field testing.
Magpul is owned and operated by former Recon Marines so our active duty troops can count on Magpul coming through for them...similar to LaRue Tactical...equipment for Operators by Operators. |

Magpul Polymag dimensions and detent design are MilSpec and are compatible with Colt and FN M-16's and each registered Tier I AR-15 manufacturer.
Perhaps the magazines you're referring to are not of Magpul manufacture or the AR's are not of Tier I manufacture.
Good point though in that it's crucial to test for weapon-to-component fit and function. |

| Somebody ran them at the Tactical Rifle course last summer in the dust and heat. Work fine in their Colt AR. Fit and work fine in my DPMS. |
