Old and new, I am always interested in WAR and Good vs Evil flicks but do not know many. I would like to see some decent new DVD's, along with the oldies as well
Of course one of my all time oldies, The Bridge over the River Kwai
Also any Gun movies or Tactical stuff too |

Great idea!
The HMFA is going to have the film War and Peace pretty soon. I am interested in seeing that. IIRC it's a 2 day affair. |

There are many great war and warrior movies that I can and will comment on but "Midway" is a great movie of an epic Navy battle that counted so much on strategy, courage, and luck. It changed the tide of the pacific war. I can watch it over and over...if I had the time.

| Night of the Shooting Stars (Italian w/subtitles, probably listed as La Nuit de Varennes) is a war movie but from the eyes of a child who lived it. It has to do with the proposed occupation of an Italian town by the Nazi forces. Not a lot of battle scenes here but it will get you points with your gal. Nevetheless, the way the warriors are portrayed in the imagination of the little girl, and the view of the American soldiers as heroes is unforgettable. Try it. |
