I just thought that I’d pass this on.
I only heard about this tonight from my brother who is a Captain with the local fire department and monitors much of the goings on in our area.
The bad guys have been caught. It turns out that there were four of them. They were all aged 17-21 and already had criminal records.
As you’ll see from reading the details below, it is amazing that no one was killed. The area that this happened in is in far west Houston in what is considered one of the safest areas of town. The first house that they hit is in a very prestigious area and located on a busy, well lit corner.
My brother related the tale over dinner at my folks house and an immediate hush fell over the table as everyone considered the events that had taken place less than three miles away from where we sat. Then everyone turned to look at the front door which was wide open, except for the storm door. My mom looked at me with her eyes wide and I could see she finally realized why I carry. I am happy to say that I was facing the door and I was armed although no one there knew it. I just smiled and went back to eating. I’m going back to my folk’s house in a few days to beef up their doors and they’ve decide that they need to look into being more proactive about their safety.
In the story below, the bad guys were pretty ruthless in shooting up one guy’s house. I have to think that slightly older and more experienced robbers would have made entry faster and with less notice, probably with unfortunate results for the homeowners.
I’ve been training with Hoffner for 3 years now and I have implemented many of his suggestions into my way of life and I’ve even beefed up our doors per his recommendations. Up until now, my warnings to the rest of the family have fallen on deaf ears though. Even I was in disbelief when I first heard the tale. I mean, who REALLY thinks a home invasion will happen to them or someone that they know?
Although I generally have a gun handy, modified somewhat by the presence of a 4 year old in the house, there are going to be some changes in a few things around here as well as some discussions and drills on what to do in the event there is an invasion.
Even though I have heard Hoffner say it many times before, I’ll repeat it here, “The good guys in the “burbs” have the stuff worth stealing and most of them have no defense ready for the bad guys”. Don’t get caught unaware because you think that it can’t happen to you.
By the way, I know some of the people involved and I deleted their names.

I'm not sure if everyone is aware of what has been taking place in the Cypress Area. Monday afternoon between the hours of 5pm-7pm my parents house which is at the corner of Cypress Rosehill and Queenslake (right behind Walmart). They broke through the glass in the front door and got away with 28 guns, all of my mom's jewelry, DVD's, a few Christmas gifts and a Satellite Radio. Thankfully everything is replaceable and no one got hurt.
My dad was out of town hunting and my mom had been at the movies. The police were called and the Crime Scene unit came out and did their investigation. Unfortunately they did not get good finger prints from anything in the house. My dad made it home and things finally settled down.
Around 2 am the bad guys decided to return. The police feel 100% that they were coming back to finish off my parents house. They did take the front door key. But my parents stayed home and there were vehicles in the drive way. So they decided to go to my parents neighbors which is 3.5 acres down. There weren't any cars in their driveway. The men tag teamed both front and back doors at the same time. Beating on them and ringing the door bell.
Thankfully everyone on our street was aware of what happened at my parents, so they were prepared. After the knocking stopped Mr. Hxxxxx fired his rifle through his door at them. To let them know that they were home and armed. Things got quiet so Mr. Hxxxxx went to his kitchen window and watched what they were doing. They went to their vehicle to load the guns that they stole from my parents. They then proceeded to go up to the front door and return fire into the house. They also shot up the garage where both of their vehicles were. There were approximately 16 bullet holes throughout the house. By the grace of GOD, no one was hit by any bullets.
Tuesday morning the sheriff's contacted my mom and informed her that there was a reported robbery at 2920 and Kickapoo. Not sure of the details, but from the description of the vehicle they are linking these incidents all together.
Here it is Wednesday late morning and I just received a call from my mom, informing me that the sheriff called again and these men hit again. They entered a house on Mueschke. Not sure exactly where on Mueschke. The homeowners were in bed when they broke in and the robbers greeted them in their bedroom. Thankfully the homeowners scared them off. They were able to get a description of the vehicle. It is an older model Bronco or an older SUV S10. It is dark in color, not sure if it's black or dark blue. There is also a thick cream colored stripe that runs in the middle. The little description we have of the guys is that they were 2 Hispanic men.
Please be on the look out in the Cypress area for these guys. They are obviously not going to stop until they are caught. Please pass this information on to anyone you know that is in the Cypress Area that could possibly see this vehicle. We are desperate to find these guys. Just remember they are armed and obviously aren't scared of anyone. |

Additional information has come out about the events and it turns out that at least 17 rounds were fired into the residence with one round going right through the peep hole in the door.

That's what the news needs to report and in that much detail. Often they are way too vauge to help anyone with the information they present. |

The media traditionally spins events to their beliefs. What do you guys think about adding a Crime Tracker section on the forum? One for the greater Houston Area and one for national?

| A Crime Tracker category would be of high value on this Forum. |
