Right now I am looking into the Ka-Bar TDI knife.

But, I've been carrying the Shivworks clinchpick for a couple of years.

dagar47,

The software section has some really good essays. "The Myth of Proportional Armament" is probably my favorite.

I prefer it in a centerline carry, so 11-1 o'clock, like in the pics.

Business daily carry is a Cold Steel Voyager, 4" blade, 1/2 serrated. It's lightweight and well made.

In the field it's the Cold Steel Recon, tanto blade 1/2 serrated.

My favorite is the old Benchmade 880 Millenium but it's not made any more in the large blade. Its a sweet spearpoint liner-lock, thin and lightweight with good gripping. Lately though I have been carrying the Benchmade 910 Stryker full size. It's characteristics are similar to the 880 but has a tanto blade. Though I prefer a spearpoint I have been carrying the 910 as it is easily replaceable if need be.

This is my first post. Very Happy

I used to carry an Emerson Commander and CQC8 but then, the Wave wouldn't work reliably with all my trouser pockets. With the Wave not working, I had to use the thumb disc, which isn't the easiest thing in the world to access.

Six months ago, a friend recommended the Crucible folder and FX. I took a look, handled the knives a bit, and liked what I saw. I walked out of the shop with both knives.

I am not a knife fighter, but I've carried knives since I was a boy, and these are some good knives. Mind you, I'm not exactly fond of Blackhawk gear, but these two blades were worth my coin.

Caveat emptor - the folder was designed with a recessed liner lock, so it isn't easy to close the knife one-handed. I've not been able to do so in the half year I've had the knife, but then the designer spec'd the knife this way.

Padwan,
I will be anxious to see them. I will be scheduling a formal Defensive Knife certification class for the first of the year.

Hoff-

Do you plan on providing the advance knife certification this year?

By the way... if anyone has not yet participated in the defensive knife training... go for it! Hoff teaches it as "warrior-ready" & "warrior-reliable". The mind-set portion makes all the difference.

Thanks Jeff,
I just talked to Jim Pruett yesterday as I am going to hold it at his place directly after a free presentation of my popular powerpoint presentation "Code of the Warrior". It will be on the early 2008 calender.

Excellent news Hoff and this is perfect for wives, sons, daughters and co-workers as well.

Anyone can buy and carry a knife...it's gaining and developing the skills, choosing and knowing the right equipment and having "on call" warrior attitude that makes the difference in winning the fight.
