Would anyone like to be part of a new monthly shotgun only shooting club at Impact Zone? Format: Practical courses of fire, as many as time permits depending on shooter turnout. USPSA rules for scoring and safety for field courses, Steel Challenge rules and scoring for steel speed shoots. Results of Practical courses of fire determine ladder for man on man triple elimination shootoff. (Triple elimination means lose three times and you are out of the competition). Shootoffs: hit steel array with one mandatory reload before hitting stop plate. Stop plate will consist of a popper (hinged floor mounted steel). Each shooter will have assigned popper. The stop plates will be placed so that they pile on top of one another as they fall. Plate on the bottom wins. Prelims best of three runs. Final, best of five runs.

Put me on the roster Liam as these are excellent competitive shotgun drills.

I am in favor of putting together a shooting club and will be happy to sponsor it. I know Liam has the capablity to organize it as he has many years experience, but he will need committment and help from others to set up, tear down, etc.
This would be an excellent, and fun, way to put together a practiced shooting Team Hoffners.
What do you think?

What it comes down to is the more help we have the more we can do in terms of props and setup. I have some steel, the Zone has some steel and target stands. Props such as a bed, table with drawer, these are things that let you do scenarios wherein the operator begins in bed; Upon start retrieve gun from under bed or, night stand.

Multi gun stages such as steel targets with shotgun, paper target after transition to pistol.
Multi ammo stages such as steel targets with shot, paper targets with slug. Select slug stage with say, 3 different shooting positions including transitions back and forth between slug and shot. Possibilities are endless.

Members of the club can get a chance at designing stages on a rotating basis. Each stage will be proofed for safety.

We'll have some fun learning, that's for sure.

Let's get table top and discuss how Phil, you and Hoff would like to proceed. I can help underwrite materials and can fabricate and weld anything you need.
A group of us Contractors combined efforts and resources and built a complete live fire training facility in Iraq in 2006 including mock buildings, open and doored door ways, alley ways, market square mock up complete with fruit stands and table clothes draped from clothes lines, partial cinder brick walls, junked out trucks, trailers, cars and a two story building to teach the troops and contractors to keep looking up when clearing an area, etc., etc., etc.
Airsoft weapons were used and worked very well.
Let's move forward...

So, where are we going to discuss this? It was posted under another topic header and we already started a convo regarding this shotgun shooting club issue.

It's listed here, and under Shotgun, but the thread should be continued here. I will make a not of that on the shotgun thread. It will also be discussed Saturday at the range and at dinner.
