Went out to the range today and shot 300 rds. through the Saiga 12.
No malfunctions and very easy on the shoulder.
Only problem is being able to put in a new mag. without have to open the bolt.
I guess it just takes practice or someone knows a special technique.

Mel,
Excellent update and glad to hear of your success with the Saiga. Impact Guns and Tromix both manufacture after-market cams that hold the bolt to the rear after the last round is fired. Check their websites and the cam is fairly easy to install...

Some prefer the bolt to remain forward after the last round is fired while others prefer the bolt to lock to the rear after the last round. My position is that reloads are faster when the bolt is locked to the rear...remove the empty mag, insert the full mag, actuate the slide forward and get on with business. It's how we train with Hoff and IDPA.

Consider bringing your Saiga to Q-1 American Defenders.
