Combining AK-47 dependability, 12 gauge CQB firepower and 10 round magazine capacity, check out the semi-automatic Saiga 12 gauge at www.saiga-12.com

An IDF troop had a 19" Saiga at ASC yesterday and we ran drills with this salt of the earth battle weapon. 10 round mag speed loads were smooth and the weapon had a good feel; solid and well balanced.

I priced the market and ordered a Saiga through www.impactguns.com

I hope that works well, as I am interested in them also. I have looked at them, but was unsure about reliability.

I'll run 1,000 rounds through the Saiga 12 gauge and report my findings on this Forum.

I was at Fountain Firearms Saturday morning when somebody bought one to use at the three gun match at Impact Zone. Fountain has an adapter that cam locks to the left side of the gun to give it a picatinny rail to mount whatever you want, but it is quite high above the gun, so the offset would need to be taken into consideration.

Good note Dog and I'm going with the bare bones Saiga; no rails, no frills.

I took it to the range on Tuesday and ran about 75 rounds through it and had no problems. I have order 4 ten round mags.
So far I love it. I usually shoot a 20 gauge Remington.
I am very much impressed with this weapon, recoil is very manageable.

Good note Mel.

The Saiga 12 gauge is a salt of the earth CQB weapon and please keep posting your impression of the weapon as you break it in and run it through scenarios. Which model did you go with and what length barrel?

Lots of performance enhancing modifications available also.

I shopped the market extensively and ordered Saigas from www.impactguns.com. March delivery is expected.

Liam's link to Tromix is excellent and there are a few other U.S. based companies that modify Saiga's for competition and LE applications.

I look forward to training with the Saiga, the IDF's preferred 12 gauge.

Regarding semi-automatic cyclic rate of fire, we witnessed the Saiga fire twenty-eight ( 28 ) 12 gauge rounds, on target, in just under 14 seconds. The shooter had 10 rounds in the first mag and downloaded the second and third mags to 9 rounds to increase mag insertion speed. Stop the BG firepower.

Lovely. Now you have me counting pennies for a fun gun like that. Tromix has some amazing conversions.

So far the only changes I am making is a Russian stock, Skeleton.
A safety lever to hold the bolt back.
And of course 4 Ten rd. Mags.

Boom, boom, boom

What does Bryan have to say about the Saiga 12

That competition S-12 looks badass! I like the S-06 as well.

I bet a Dr. optic would be a great addition.
