| I have been looking at .223 ammo lately and am not sure what to buy. I am in a bit of a conflict and could use some advice. I understand that Black Hills is a common first choice for many, but I cant get over the fact that my AR will shoot Wolf or Silver Bear just fine. Why not shoot thousands of rounds of inexpensive ammo for training and save the money to buy more useful items? Why pay $500 instead of $230? |

You're right KuhnDog, why pay more for ammo than you have to?
For practice ammo, stay with what cycles well but for carry ammo, don't cut corners...go with high quality ammo. Black Hills 60 grain V-Max ammunition is excellent as is 55 grain Winchester Ballistic Silver Tip and 55 grain Remington AccuTip ammo.
Consider practicing with the same weight ballistic you carry. I practice with 55 grain UltraMax and Fiocchi FMJ ammo and carry 55 grain Ballistic Tip ammo. |
