SLUUUUG!!
Oh, sorry... Yes, 1Mo, I agree with you - the shotgun became one of my favorites also, after having taken Brian's training with it. Smitty, glad you guys had a good time and came away feeling that you'd learned something. I had a great time myself and, as always, it was my honor to be amongst you guys as an instructor and hope I lived up to the Hoffners Instructors' code and level.
I know Art and David had fun too and we're always learning everytime we're out there as instructors also; great to see you guys again.
The short bit we did at the end of the 2nd day, showing the field stripping steps for the 870, was a great idea to whomever came up with that - just glad we didn't have Mossbergs and Benellis or we'd have been there a bit longer. If you are new to field-stripping your shotgun, don't hesitate to ask if/when you have a problem or forget a step and remember: by no means should you have to force something... it should fit together correctly without a lot of force, so take a step back, a deep breath, go do some yoga or meditate or something and calm down before getting back to it with a fresh mind.
If some (or all) of you plan on attending Tactical Shotgun Operator II, let me suggest you practice going from Vehicle into Tactical Mode, then Back to Vehicle, then Clear. I thought the class could have been much quicker on going from one mode to another, doing press-checks, and clearing all the rounds from the gun.
I had a great time and you guys did an outstanding job, you absorbed a lot of material in two days and performed better than can be expected - even in the rain! I heard no bit<hing, griping, moaning nor complaining about training in the rain, to the contrary, you guys *wanted* to! Hoo-Yah!

The shotgun is such a fast, powerful, veratile, and effectice CQB weapon. Once the guys learn the proper indexes it all starts comming into place and we understand why the Hoffner system of shotgun is tops in the world.
Great job by the attendees and by the Instructors helping me out. it is really a good feeling to know how awesome you are with such a powerful weapon, Kudos to all.
