De-Brief, Intermediate Pistol Tactics, Victoria, April 2008
Victoria Texas is a hotbed of warrior enthusiasm and this class was no different. This group had a wide variety of skill from novice to Hoffners Instructors and everyone gave it 100%. We worked heavily on the dynamics of movement. Day two started at 4am as we worked on the new evolution of low light techniques. I have video that I will add when I get it formatted. We come down to D. Tobins beautuful facility at least twice a year and it is always a first class group on a first class Range facility. Be sure to join us next time in Victoria.

Nothing like a dinner of mexican food before a 4am low light session

Great course and thanks to Hoff for everything he brings to the table. The three M's of defensive pistol training were all addressed.

It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that the people you meet at these courses are top notch, along with the instructors.

The low light techniques were a first for me. For every citizen who may have to confront an intruder in his/her home at night, the flashlight techniques are more than worth the 4:00 AM start. Seeing the results from both ends of the light makes quite an impression.

And if I ever have to clear or assault the mother of all garage s.a.les (censored word) at night, I'll be ready.

Good training all around. Low light was especially good training, emphasizing (as all through the two days) SEEING, not just looking. Instruction on equipment, techniques, and ways to gain an edge through proper use of the light and environment were very valuable. Some discussion of team techniques and advantages was had.

Emphasis on aggressive movement in CQB and techniques to achieve it were great, as were the live fire drills to practice it. As always, precision shooting was important, and drills to take home have been of tremendous use to me in the time since the class to continue improving on these skills.

Hoff's style is easy to take, even though his expectations are high, and though he had several instructors to help, I always felt he was right on top of me when I needed it.

Great experience, and lots of take-home knowledge. I will be looking forward to taking more of his classes in the future. The 4a.m. start time was a really good idea, letting us start the day right!

Thanks, Hoff!

It is B3 and it is a G24. It was loaned to me to shoot for that particular class. I did enjoy shooting it.

Sweet! I'm running my G24 in PPC matches but love shooting my 35s in almost everything else.

This is great training! I had my starter class from a differt instructor, therefore I was a little apprehensive for the intermediate class. I was at ease Within 20 minutes after the shooting drills had started. I had shot only about 150 rounds through my SA XD45 Compact before this class. It is a great way to break in a new gun and learn some valuable skills. I went to the same range today to do some more practicing and actually had a person that wanted to know what I had learned. They are hooked also and are looking for Hoffners to come to Victoria and do a beginners course.

Train Often, Train with a Vengence, and train with different guns. You never know when you might be forced to change guns.
