Posted: Tue Apr 29, Post subject: De-Brief, Ultimate Pistol & Shotgun w/ Team Spartan
They were not kidding when they named Chicago the Windy City, but we made our own blasts on the range. I am now officially part of the Team Spartan Network www.teamspartan.com founded by my good friend and fellow Cop John Krupa, Team Spartan has an amazing cadre of skilled trainers. Held at Dave Clay's Harvey Il PD Range we had a great group of LEO Operators from the Chicago area, Detroit, and Blackwater. The skills of these officers were top notch. I have to say thanks for the great attitudes and hard work.
During Hoffners Ultimate Pistol, we improved everyones ability to get in the fight and win faster by working on SoSu Presentation, and SoSu push. We worked on CQB battle skills and took the fight to the attackers weak side using tactical surprise to gain the advatage till the end...Awesome! From extreme CQB pistol to sniper with a pistol we got it done.
Rangemaster David Clay is accurate on the move
During Hoffners Ultimate Shotgun the Officers found out why Hoffners method of shotgun is so devestating in the CQB fight. From 15 yards all were hitting the target from low ready (safety engaged) repeatedly at about a half second. We had several sub half second hits, outstanding! Rapid fire drills showed what awesome firepower can be delivered by a skilled operator. Select slug drills gave us the versatility of distance, penetration, and accuracy. Everyone kicked butt on the Hoffner Shotgun Drill. I have some reaaly good video from this class that I will post as soon as I get it formatted.

I'm smiling because I've been shooting with the Spartans of Chicago and Detroit and because I shot the bejesus out of this DS Arms FAL (DSA SA58) brought to the class by DS Arms LE Rep Marc Galli. www.dsarms.com I love this rifle like I love my shotgun.
Great job Spartans. It was an honor to train with you and I look forward to next time.

Hoff, Thanks for the awesome training, I feel more comfortable than ever when I get out of the squad car and approach the thhugs. They won't stand a chance if I keep that warrior mindset and the training you and Krupa have given me! Thanks again.
