Joe Horn back in the news really has me thinking. I wish this guy lived next door to me.

This guy had the courage to face down two bold criminals who could have been armed with anything, just to protect his neighborhood. The Dispatcher even trys to discourage him. You can tell he is both surprised and scared that this is happening in his neighborhood, and yet he still puts his life on the line to face these guys down.

He is outnumbered, maybe outgunned, and still decides to try and stop these guys. If more people had this type of courage the bad guys wouldn't be so bold.

Everyone is afraid of lawsuits, someone getting hurt (god forbid its the bad guy)-- There comes a time to stand up for what is right and it take the courage to know you might die in the process. There are times when fighting, and death are the right thing to do. This guy, Joe Horn confronted two bad guys face to face...he could have stayed inside, he could have worried about lawsuits, he could have let these guys go on to rob more people. He chose to stop them.

Thank god there are still everyday citizen willing to defend their homes in this country. He may not have acted in a way we think he should have in hindsight... but his intentions were right on....not in his neighborhood! If more people had the courage to fightback...wow what a better place we would live in.

I am tired of the idea that we should submit to the criminal so we can save ourselves from getting sued, hurt or killed... what ever happened to dignity?

Although I think there are many people who don't believe this anymore, there are things that are worth fighting and dying for. Protecting your home and neighbors is one of them. Joe Horn could have died that day because he choose to fight back.

It would have been a worthy death.

Even if Joe Horn had died, criminals would be on notice that people in that neighborhood are willing to fight back. Thank god he not only lived -but saved his neighborhood from more suffering at the hands of these two. These kind of situations are messy, but one thing is easy to see, Joe is the hero and the robbers were very bad men.
