Here is the direction I am going with the Go-Bag. The Go-bag is huge, heavy, and because of this carried in a vehicle. In it contains the Go Layers consisting of:
1. Your Tactical Go-Belt. This is your first layer, it goes on first. It has on it your fight minimums, pistol, pistol ammunition, rifle/shotgun ammunition, light, knife, etc. You may be going on a light/Fast Op where all you need is fighting essentials, Spec Rail gear helps you carry it more efficiently and keeps your gear clear of the load vest…if you might need more, you add the next layer, the Load vest.
2. Load Vest. Your load vest can be worn directly over your body armor and plates unless your Vest is a carrier as well. I like them separate in case I am going light/Fast without my vest, then I still have my armor. I wear my single point Northeast Tactical Sling under the vest and it sticks out through the top of the opening of my Eagle Industries Tac V1 Molle Vest. I’ll be discussing what it is loaded out with as we go along. I f I am going to be operating for an extended length of time then out of the Go Bag I pull my 3-Day Pack.
3. 3-Day Pack. This is loaded for the long hall and adjusted to fit over my load vest. Now were really adding on the weight so we don’t do the pack unless it looks like we have no choice. We will be talking about the contents of it as well.
When it’s time to go you have to be packed and ready or you’re probably going to be too late. If your Go-Bag contains these three layers properly equipped you will be about as ready as you can be.
