a message from Hoff
For twenty five years I have proudly made with my own hand (signed and dated) some of the best leather holsters anywhere. But that’s not all I do. As a full time police officer and trainer, I am responsible for teaching the five thousand officers of my department the skills to stay alive. With Hoffners Training Academy, I train law enforcement, military, and responsible citizens throughout the country with my progressive system of training with all weapons. In addition, I am working on several projects that demand much dedication, including a book. I have found that there are not enough hours in the day and there are no acceptable Hoffner clones. Though I may be one of the last of the master leather holster makers, I am taking a hiatus from the craft so that I may focus on training and my projects. Hoffners Kydex holsters and accessories will still be proudly hand made by my staff, in the USA. Leather belts and holsters as well as the Hybrid Warrior and Hybrid Warrior ITP (perhaps the most beautiful holsters ever made) will not be available. These babies are done by my hand only. The Hybrid Ultimate Shirt Tucker is hand made by my staff therefore still available as the world’s premier ITP tuckable holster. I am not sure how long this hiatus will be, the good news is that I am only a half century old so plan on me sitting at my big old’ sewing machine again someday, perhaps for some limited edition holsters. Thanks for your support over the last quarter century and please know we will keep providing you with high quality, outside the box, Kydex products. I hope to see you in training with Hoffners Training Academy. Old holster makers never die, they just hit the range.
Final orders for hand signed Leather Gear and Hybrid Warriors will be accepted through August 28, 2009. Thanks,
Brian Hoffner

| It's always hard to to stop doing something you're good at and like doing, but it's all about prioritizing... So speaking on behalf of all your loyal students, boss, I must say that we'd much rather have a book full of awesomeness and more classes! |

Brian,
Jack Green was kind enough to forward you announcement of an impending hiatus from the hand crafted leather business. Like him, I still cherish and use regularly my belt, holster and mag pouch. The only complaint I have with your product is the incredible shrinking leather you used to make my belt. It used to fit so well, an now, twenty some odd years later, I find it hard to breathe when I wear it.
Seriously, best of luck in all your endeavors and I look forward to getting notice you're back in the hide business.

From my old buddy Jack:
Well, perhaps the end of an era...... I've been using your leather gear for about 25 years. I do like the Kydex stuff and have some of that, also. If I continue to care for my Hoffner Leather properly it should last the remainder of my life....and likely my son's life. Brother, do I get it!!! Full speed ahead.................
Who is the handsome devil in the pic?
Jack
A great era ended when Jack hung up his Gunsmith apron. He was one of the worlds best. Thanks Jack, one of these years we will have a cigar and a whiskey together again. |
