New this year is Vehicle Gunfighting with Rifle or Shotgun. A critical class to gain the skills for winning with a vehicle and a powerful long gun. The hits on target from inside or around the vehicle were devestating on the bad guys. Regardless of having the rifle up front or in the trunk we fought TO it and kicked butt WITH it. Having a position of cover and tactical advantage and being able to reach out there with the rifle is an extreme tactical advantage. Test results on the door with .223, 7.62, 12ga buckshot, #4buck, and slug were very surprising and very informative. Through the windshield we obliterated the target. The weather was cool beautiful and this group of Hoffner Operators had a great day. See you next year.

For those who took the Saturday Vehicle Gunfighting Class (with pistol) and not the Sunday Class with Rifle, you really missed something special. What a day. It was for me, really educational and challenging.
Rolling out left or right with a rifle is very different from using a pistol. I was well challenged going Prone - Rolling Left and getting to Sights-On under the truck, something I was not expecting after easily doing it with a pistol. It was physically challenging for me to get to "Flat Rifle Prone" or transitioning from right shoulder to left with left hand trigger when rolling out left - from prone. But after Brian worked me through it a few times, I know what to do, and now, what to practice.
By the way, "Keep the ###@@!!@ Trigger Finger Out of the trigger guard while transitioning" - lesson well learned.
Can you see John's knee pads; they weren't that way when we started.
Learned how to safely store and move a rifle around in that little Saturn while under pressure then put lead down range - Great Loads of Fun.
That little Saturn was full of hot brass as was several other locations....
There was more to this class than I originally thought. We shot a lot of rounds and had a lot of FUN!!!
Thanks Brian, Chad, John and David for Great Day. |
