I just wanted to plug Phil's 2 to 200 yard pistol class that he holds out at the Impact Zone. We had a great time and you would be amazed with what you can accomplish with your pistol with some facts, some coaching, some skill and confidence. We were ringing not only a man-sized silhouette and 8" round pie plates at 50 yards, but also a 6" square plate... then we rang the silhouette and 8" plates again at 100 yards. THEN, yep, you guessed it. We hit the silhouette at 200 yards. This was 3 shooters, all shooting 1911 .45s, standing, off-hand with a light wind coming in from the right.
I have to give credit to Brian's pistol and mindset training also, or I would not have been able to make these hits so easily (yeah, I heard you guys talking about that SpecRat being a kiss-ass at the Vehicle Gunfighting class, lol, but it's true, so pphhhttttt!)
Shee-it, I wouldn't expect you to believe that Robert and I were sitting on the bus @ 200 yds yesterday and got hits on the 8" round plate off-hand either. Sho was fun though! Seriously, Phil's got a great place going and a great class. I urge anyone who's serious about pistol shooting and accuracy to challenge themselves with this class. I can't tell you what a sense of accomplishment and some serious friggin confidence in our abilities with a .45 we left with that evening. See ya'll out there ringing the bell!

Darcy, Semper Fi (I think that's your handle, please confirm) and I did the 2 to 200 class (and low light and no light) with Phil last Saturday, Nov.17th.

What an outstanding experience!

Darcy and I both struggled a bit with the 200 yard shots, but ultimately we did manage to make our shots regardless of shooting with 3-1/2" barrel, 9mm, G19C's.

The significance of this, at least to us, is that with Darcy having hardly a year of experience shooting pistols and myself only shooting pistols since February, we were surprised that we could even hit the target at 200 yds with a subcompact pistol (or anything else).

This is a testament to the quality of training that both Brian and Phil provide.

Brian has instilled in us (collectively, warrior's) strong foundations in safety, philosophy, theory and tactics. With Phil's coaching we were able to apply Brian's training and ultimately shoot beyond the limitations of our equipment.

I just want to express my gratitude to Brian and Phil (not to mention our good luck) that they are both here to share their knowledge and experience with those of us who truely want to be proficient and responsible marksmen (marksperson, markspeople, marks...... or whatever is P.C. dang it)!

In the last year we have gained a wealth of knowledge and have met some great people along the way.

To anybody who has hesitated to take advantage of these resources (Brian & Phil) my only comment is too bad, it's your loss! But it's not too late!

Ron

Ron,
You and Darcy shot very well last Saturday and it was a pleasure training with you both.

Keep up the good work and come on out for American Defenders training in December at Impact Zone.
