Gem, I get the feeling your involved enough in the Hoffners community to know that your original post was simply to “kick a hornet’s nest”. I hear what your saying about opinions and freedom to choose who you train with, but you should take that stupid rabbits advise in Bambi. “If you don’t have something nice to say shut the Eff up” :Thumper (or something like that) (maybe that should go in “warrior quotes”) None the less you chose to make that snotty post so you get to hear my $0.02.

What I’m not very clear on is your problem of his “gun handling” or “trigger discipline”. Are you saying it is too aggressive or not aggressive? I can only assume you feel he is not giving his students “real world” training. I guess If he trained his students to jump through windows with a blade in their teeth all the while shooting over a teammates head, that would be more realistic. Maybe it would be. I don’t know, I’ve never had to do that. I don’t know Brian all that well, but I do know him well enough to think that if he were training Spetnaz commandos, he would be teaching that technique. You see, he is in a difficult situation here. He has to balance safety and technique, all while instructing all levels of experience. He has to follow a lesson plan that cannot be deviated. He has to keep it moving as not to run out of time. I have never met anyone who left his class and felt they didn’t at least learn something. I hope you have taken at least one of his classes. Please tell me your not basing your opinion on a YOUTUBE video. Even if you have taken only one of his classes, try the next level it does get a little more intense. If you want to “get off X’ or “Run and Gun” that is fine, go do it. You are not comparing apples to apples. Brian is giving students the building blocks to become an effective shooter. Without what Brian teaches you wouldn’t be worth a poo in those other courses. In fact you would be a liability and a hazard. I’m willing to bet that those other instructors would turn away a good percentage of the students that Brian instructs. I also think those same instructors will take those students if they took Tac pistol I. After Tac pistol I students who “before” had no confidence in their ability to shoot effectively, would do well in those other trainers environment.

As far as the “Elite Team”, have you ever tried that thing? There have been close to a thousand attempts to make the team. Only a handful has made it. It is so difficult that it sucks. I can tell you this, if I ever make I’ll certainly feel “elite”.

Dude, America is raising a generation of tree hugging politically correct children who will be in charge one day. They are going to open everything up and drop all safeguards, as not to offend anyone. That is when it is going to happen, and you will NEED someone stacked behind you. If you don’t want Brian there fine, he can stand behind me. I’ll be happy to have anyone there who is willing to carry a weapon to defend their loved ones. You might find yourself alone because you could not find anyone worthy enough to be there. If that’s the case, I bet the last thing you see before some savage saws through your neck in the name of some peace loving religion, is a group of men and women who don’t care about who is qualified to carry coming into the room to save your azz.

If you don’t believe me check out this link. This is what the world is coming to and I don’t like it…..

Well said Ezekiel.I really dont belive this guy has trained a single time with Brian. If he had he would not of made those comments. There are a few other "INSTRUCTORS" that train students here localy, and I can tell you from first hand experience that they like to put down Hoffners program. The "THEY" I am refering to is the students not so much the instructors.Although the instructors really dont do anything to discourage this sort of comments.I have shot with some of these people once or twice and found that was more then enough. When I was presented with the "SCENARIO"and chose a better path to the end,I was told "you cant do that"My response..."I just did...And I got great results!"I was also condemed for SIGHTS ON SLACK UP.Apparently thats a no no in there world.I am not really sure how to get to there world,do you make a right at the waterfall or a left at the rainbow? One way or another I will find out the Directions And you can ride with me on my magic carpet if you would like. Twisted Evil

I read the rant. Kinda wierd, and obvious the guy has not trained with Hoff.

I am an Intl' Rifle Coach (Three Position and High Power) AND Intl' Shotgun Coach (ATA, NSSA, NSCA,, NSSF, USA SHOOTING) as well as a State Certified Trainer and P.O.S.T. Certified Tactical Handgun Instructor and Rangemaster. Also, having shot competively since 1958 in both the civilian and military arena, I have been trained by the best in the world.

I can tell you with authority that Hoff knows the difference between a long range precision trigger press, and a close range trigger slap. He also knows how to train folks to know and use both, safely and effectively, in a crowd. I consider him a peer, and there are only a handful of folks on this planet that qualify.

I was at the LETC in Baton Rouge, and trained with five living legends, including Brian. Brian is, in my dog eared book, among the best in the world.

ANY QUESTIONS?
