What's everyones thoughts on training to keep your pistol out of the BG's control?

Failing that, the options I see are:
    1) getting your pistol back

    2) reducing it's ability ( dropping the mag. out, inducing a malfunction)

    3) controlling the pistol & striking/ getting your knife into play

    4) bravely running away.

    5) combination of the above


Realizing the limitations of online discussion, I think disarms/controlling the pistol become an important option given how BG's rob people, ie... ambush style, up close and personal.

Exellent topic fm2 and we learn/practice these very techniques at Hoffner monthly SoSu training. During November SoSu training, we practiced drills to STOP a BG from removing our sidearm from our holster.

I look forward to Hoff's commentary on this key topic...
