We'll be talkin about so many Illumination tools. There are so many out there, more everyday and we want to hear your opinions. I'm bad about losing things or my things walking off, so I have a buch of the Surefire G2. They're inexpensive so you can heve them placed everywhere that you might need them, rooms, vehicles, bags, etc. It doesnt hurt as much when you lose one but hey, might as well put your mark on them anyway.
Which lights are you using?

Hoff teaches the importance of watching someone's hands during uncertain times, especially in low light situations
Under my AR is mounted a quick disconnect Surefire M3 and distance testing has shown that (in clear conditions) white hands are clearly visible at 120 yards using this 350 lumen, heavy duty, four (4) lithium battery flashlight.
Wafer thin LED, thumb actuated, flashlights that attach to your key ring are a must for all family members. Tactically, red light is preferred since the red wave length has the shortest carry distance of the usual color options.

Having a light that is bright enough to not only search with, but identify with, and see hands with is of extreme importance.

| My patrol rifle sports a SF M500A, my bat belt has a Gladius (love the strobe - wonderful on drunks), my off duty carry has an SF C2. They all work but I am enjoying the durability LED lights are giving, especially with the increased light. |

Hey Morris, I read that you like the durability of the LED lights. May I suggest taking a look at Beamshot's TD10. I picked one up when sitting next to the Beamshot booth at the last TTPOA SWAT Conference and I *looove* this rechargeable light! It is tough and it is BRIGHT! It continues to impress me how bright it is. And if the rechargeable battery runs dead and the light needs to still be used, you can throw in 3 of the 3v 123 batteries and get back to it.
Anyhow, just thought I would point out this piece of equipment for you guys to check out. |

| Thanks! I'll look into that. Anything that will cut my battery bill is appreciated. |

Well Morris, it's a very affordable package for a rechargeable, very bright LED combat light. I've been trying for months to get in touch with the guy from Beamshot that was at the SWAT conference (or *anyone* there for that matter) but it seems no one wants to return my calls or emails. Maybe they just don't want to do business with Hoffners... which doesn't make sense if they're going from the military & trying to break into the L.E. community.

What kind of mount do you guys recommend for a M4?
And what position seems to be best? Under the foregrip, high on the front sight on the side or? |

I don't have that type of fore stock to mount some of those types.
Anyone try the front sight side mount from GG&G? |

I personally use a Surefire E1e executive elite with the KL1 LED.
fits in your hand like a roll of coins. Last a few hours. Dims when low on power. Clip has never failed me. Small enough to clip to the bill of a baseball cap. Very sturdy.
here are some flashlight reviews online:

+1 on the E1E with KL1 LED head. It's been in my pocket every day for the last 6 or 7 years and looks it. It never fails though.
I also keep an E2 and a G2Z on/in the nightstand and a Scorpion in the glove box. Inova Microlights are on zippers of carry bags (luggage, briefcase, first aid kits) and windbreakers/rain jackets. |
