Brian,

Would you please post the website for the company that produces the ballpoint pen that you carry when traveling.

Thanks. ~mj

I was also told that someone got one here in Houston @ Beckwith Blades, 10801 Hammerly Blvd - for approximately $88.00.

I like the Retro Tornado in Stainless Steel. It's a strong, one piece pen with a blunt back for your thumb placement. Use it in the same way we train in SoSu with a knife in the spine pick hold. A bonus, it writes nice too.
You can find it for $15.95 at www.pens4less.com click on Retro/ Tornado

I know I have a ways to go before I make the Elite Pen Team and while I am embarrassed to write this, I feel that sharing my experience may save someone else from a terrible tragedy.

During the recently televised Democratic Party presidential debates I took the opportunity to practice my pen draws and dry writing at the TV screen. Never underestimate the amount of improvement one can achieve in ones pen handling in just an evening of dry practice in front of the TV.

After close to an hour of watching images of Hillary and Obama flickering across my TV screen my hands were trembling, my head ached and my vision was beginning to blur. I just give thanks that I had the sound off or I’d have been a real wreck. Still, at that moment, I couldn’t have drawn another mustache, blackened another tooth or doodled an additional set of devil’s horns if my life had depended on it.

While I was in this benumbed state something really interesting about the program finally caught my attention. It was either an advertisement for discount pet medications or foot powder, I don’t exactly recall, but as I was practicing my tactical ink refills my attention wandered for just a second. It was then that I suddenly had a negligent inking, my first ever. I am ashamed to say that I forgot to use the decocker before re-pocketing. Yes, I relied on a mechanical safety device and a perfectly good shirt was ruined.

As we strive to improve our skills we can never afford to forget the four cardinal rules of pen safety:
Treat all pens as if they have ink.
Never point your pen at something you don’t intend to write on.
Keep your tip retracted until you have the perception that you need to write.
Know the material you intend to write on and what is behind it.

And never, ever, practice your pen drills with live refills in the vicinity.

Remember, you can erase pencil marks but ink is forever!

“I came, I saw, I wrote!”

I am thinking about ordering one of these pens for two reasons, #1 to see how long I can hang on to it before losing it (I am h-ll on losing pens) and #2 I like the cap covering the writing end so the ink won't spill out all over my pants pocket where I carry it tactically (I am h-ll on pens and they tend to leak because of it).
Always looking for a better tactical solution. Keep the good info comming guys.

I've only found one issue with mine. It can "unscrew" in your pocket. Then the pressurized ink kinda flows into the fabric that is pulling it out. So sKrew it on tight and you wont have the issue. It only happened to me once but under some goofy circumstances. I have not stuck anyone with it yet but I have a sixteen year old dog that pee pee s all over the house. If I decide to use it on her I'll let you guys know how it feels.
