I am a Beretta fan, and love the 92, but I'd like a lighter one that can mount a light/laser. The PX4 seems to fit what I want. It is very well designed, fits my hand well and is a bit shorter. The locking system - rotary barrel, also seems very strong, though I want a 9mm and this may not be an issue. The problem is I never shot one and would like any feedback from anyone out there who did...I am spoiled by my 92 and any other pistol I buy has to be at least as reliable.

I love my PX4. It was love at first feel. I carry the full sized 40S&W. I have shot several thousand rounds through it, as well as taken tactical pistol 1 with it. I have never had any problems with it. I bought it when it first came out and Hoff didn't offer a holster for it, so I carry it IWB in a CompTac CTAC. It shoots great, feels good, and is a breeze to clean.

I did a test and evaluation on it when Beretta first came out with it. It permormed well, no malfunctions. The center of bore to grip is a little higher than what I am used to with my Glock so the muzzle flip was more noticable. The main feedback that I gave Berreta was regarding the decocker. It's edges are sharp so when you are operating and training alot it will tear up your thumb with hundreds of repititions.
Overall it is a good dependable pistol.

Well, I broke down when I found a REALLY good deal at a gun show.
It fits me well and functions with no problems. I have no complaints and love the rotating barrel system for the cool/weird factor. Seems like a very strong action. It's easy to clean and the mags are well designed and have a very slick finish. I like the option of the 20 round mags, though 17 rounds are more than enough, probably. Meccanica Del Sarca (MDS) makes very good mags that are reasonably priced, I bought two 20-rounders for $ 48 shipped.
I wonder if the 92 isn't a smoother shooting pistol, though...

I took notice of the safety/decocker levers as mentioned above. They do stick out a bit and they seem a bit rough-moving. they may need some break in...I lubed the heck out of them and they already move better. They reminded me of a friend's modified 1911 that had the rear sight made so it could catch in the belt or other objects and work the slide if one hand was disabled. With the PX4 you can use the safety lever to do the same, I wonder if this was intentional.

Interesting point. It seems like the notch in the safety lever was engineered itentionally for that reason, i will ask a Beretta Rep and hopefully not gat a "deer in the headlights" look With my own testing I have found that when using the ambidextrous saftey lever for Injured limb manipulation the notch holds it in place on the belt, or holster, and you can actually work the slide several times with full positive motion without it slipping off or engaging the slever to the "safe"positionl. Pretty darn cool.

I think I can say that Cecil does'nt care much for making holsters for the PX4 Storm. It's very complicated due to the frame shape. If you mold to the aesthetic lines of the gun it will never come oout of the holster, so we have to make function the priority over form in this case, plus it's a pain in the....
