Sometimes I think dumb thoughts, but usually disabuse myself of them before I act on them. So, my old standby Garand will remain my Garand. I've even bought another 1000 rounds of .308, just in case. And, my Remington 870 is on the way. Along with a new XD 5" .45. I guess I'm just an un-reconstructed West Texan. Guns rock!

I haven't heard of one not shooting well. I've had the M4 version, the 24" fluted bull barrell model and currently the SASS rifle. They've all been great, I've just gone for different styles.
The SASS has a Horus 4-16 in a LaRue SPR mount and a harris bipod. It's a great shooting gun. Mine has an Vltor stock, but they currently come with a Magpul full length adjustable.

The array of DPMS 308 weapons have gained excellent reputations in the field over the years. Three of my security staff carry 24" DPMS .308's for long distance perimeter security and our confidence in DPMS platforms is very high.

DPMS's have tight tolerances, hence extremely high 500 yard accuaracy, and are therefore more subject to dust/sand jamming than are FAL type assault rifles. If your area of operation is the U.S. then wind swept sand and debris should not be a problem.

DPMS has excellent technical staff and the owners are well known and respected within the Operator community.
