Liam,
I picked mine up about 3-4 weeks ago and have only gotten about 250 rounds through it so far. I picked up the first bi-tone one I found and traded my "old" XD in towards the purchase.

I really like the new grip. It has much better "traction" than the older style grip and the adjustable size backstraps make it fit my hand like it was custom built for me. It is about 1/4 inch longer in the muzzle, but still fits in my side armor kydex holster for the older gun. The older mags won't work in the new gun due to them being slightly shorter than the new 16 round mags. (which stinks because I had 4-5 spares in the older style)

I think the sights are a vast improvement and overall like the new slide profile. The trigger pull has been smoothed with a much shorter re-set point and little overtravel.

All in all, it is an actual improvement upon an already good fighting handgun, in my opinion anyway.

As far as accuracy, it groups a little better, and I attribute that to the trigger being smoother and faster to re-set. I wasn't shooting it from the bench or with "match" ammo, so I didn't see a big difference there. I do shoot it as fast, if not faster, than my "old" XD, and I think the better fit of the grip shortens my recoil recovery time slightly giving me shorter "split times" between shots.

So far the reliability has been standard XD... Which is to say it has not missed a beat yet.

If you find the opportunity to shoot one, I recommend it. You will like it if you are a fan of the original.
