Good job finding that video,Reelzaruba.
We all had heard stories about this but that report makes it more clear about what actually went down during that terrrible disaster.
Since that happened in NOLA,legislatures in several states have passed laws preventing police from doing that again.
Well, that is at least for now.
We all need to be active in this upcoming politcal season because our right to bear arms is a critical freedom that I think most folks take for granted.
**This is just my opinion but even if you have had differences with the NRA positions in the past go ahead and join the organization again.
Contribute whatever monies you can and be involved.
Go to www.marklevinshow.com and get the names and addresses of all the Congressman and Senators in Washington off the link on his site.
Contact them regularly about keeping our guns and conservative talk radio.
One thing is for certain that as a great patriot from the American revolution said..." If we do not hang together, then we all shall surely hang separately."** |

Wow,
Almost unbelievable. I couldnt watch the whole thing. It is very hard for me to believe that anyone in a position of power in this country of all places, when it really comes down to a lawless situation like New Orleans after the hurricane, would take guns away from good citizens trying to protect themselves. It just goes to show you how many people in government dont trust the average citizen to take care of themselves, their family, and their neighbors. As an everyday conceal carry good citizen, I would gladly come to the aid of other good people including law enforcement. Why dont these police officers in New Orleans see the benefit of an armed citizenry? All I can say is I hope the day never comes where officers of the government come to take away my right to self defense....in a lawless situation like New Orleans had, I would not comply with police confiscation. |

It is public record that the order to disarm New Orleans' citizens was originated by Mayor (chocolate city) Ray Nagin and was unanimously supported by the New Orleans city council.
Then Governor Mary Landrieu purportedly never got word of the disarmament until after actions were taken, but those claims are heavily refuted to this day as an NRA funded investigation continues.
BG's were toting heavy weapons in plain sight while orders were being carried out to disarm New Orleans' citizens....great thinking Mr. Mayor and New Orleans city council...
Bottom line, NOPD officers were simply following orders as set forth by their chain of command. |
