Very kewl information that I had never heard before,Spec...thanks.
I wonder what substance those guys where "slippin and sliding in" as they were hollering that phrase when those Marine guns came to bear on them,lol. |

A safe guess would be khat. It gets so hot there that they will take a break from the day's routine at the heat of the day and sit around socializing, etc. Chewing on some khat is a part of that relaxing ritual for some of them. They also chew it sometimes as part of putting on their warface ritual before they expect battle.

| i met a man who was a bartender at the old maxwells pub sheperd and alabama... you wouldn't know to look at him but he was army ranger and is depicted in the movie blackhawk down... mike never spoke about it except to tell me the studio flew him and some of his comrades to georgia to see a screening of the film... said he liked it when i asked so i figured it was a good movie... it sure was SCARY...the third world is being imported here every day... |
