At long last the Hoffners Tactical Rifle is here!
I wanted to build a rifle that is versatile and perfect for the way todays operators are outfiiting their rifles. 16" Chrome-Moly H-Bar with 1X9 Twist The gas block and long Quad Rails on the Hoffner Tac Rifle provide a huge amount of room to mount your CQB sight AND your magnifier or night vision, plus any other accessories that you want. It also comes with an Ergo Grip that stores batteries, an oversized Tactical Latch on the charging handle, Flip-up Mangowner adjustable front and rear sights, SOG single mount sling loop, six position stock, 2 thirty round mags, hard case, and cleaning kit.
Retail Price is $1,299 thats a heck of alot of gun for that price!
with JP Trigger installed the Retail Price is $1450 and that trigger is sweet!
It is a h_ll of a Fighting Rifle built for Hoffners by DPMS. I have shot the dog crap out of it with everything including Wolf poly coated steel case ammo without as much as a hiccup. This rifle is made for the fight!
Get your Hoffners Tactical Rifle only from Pruetts Guns and Ammo 832-237-GUNS (4867)

| I saw it! Really beautiful machine. Nice touch with the long rail/handguards, you can put anything you want on that puppy! The barrel's metal is machined really well, and it's finish is better than most ARs I've seen. Very impressive! |

Got the e-mail but interested on details on the barrel. Chrome lined or not? Twist? |

| Very cool, you'll like that long handguard. The last handful of rifles I've gotten from DPMS have been set up very similar. They shoot! |

Not having a chrome lines barrel may be a turn off to some. Even here in the wet northwest, it has not been an issue provided you do the right thing and clean with regularity.
My 1/9 DPMS A15 has been a good shooter, despite some of the sniffs in the air against DPMS. |

It doesnt really save you much not to have a chrome barrel and may cost you in the long run. I have seen non-chrome barrels rust especially in humid enviroments. I think it's important to have a chromed barrel and I am not one to scrub my rifle relentlessly so The Hoffners Tactical Rifle Barrel is certainly chrome.

The rifles are in at Pruitt's, so we went by and picked up Becky's. We took it to Hot Wells to fire a few rounds and ended up spending a couple of hours on the bench. You’re right, I should have taken some pictures of the rifle.
The rifle just feels good to shoot. I don't know what else I can say. When I saw it again at Pruitt's (after shooting a loaner at Hoff's rifle course) Jim could have sold me a second rifle if the current order was not all pre-sold.
We followed the DPMS break in recommendations, and she started putting together some decent groups after 4 rounds with the BUIS. The JP is one smooth trigger, but I am thinking it might need a little adjustment to serve as a defensive weapon. It’s a little light to me as currently set, but again, it’s not my rifle. Optics are next.
We are going to meet the Victoria crew on Saturday at Dr. Tobins for pistol and rifle work. Can't wait to put more rounds through it, if she will let me.
Picked up a 308 AP4 also. Wonderful rifle. I'll see how it goes with double taps in alpha using that rifle. Could be interesting. Not sure I would want to take Tactical Rife II with it, but who knows.

Picked up my rifle Wednesday night and was out at the range first thing Saturday morning. I had bench rifle guru buddy of mine with me out at the Tomball Gun Club and he was very impressed! We put it to the test on the 15, 25, 50, and the 100 yard ranges, and it performed flawlessly. I put about 500 rounds through it and enjoyed every minute of it . I need a lot of practice and some help adjusting the sights. Looking forward to Tactical II. |

Hey Hoff, I have a question about the rifle.
What mods would you recommend for a lefty shooter? I ask this because I have never shot a gas impingement system. I have had some minor issues with piston operated right handed rifles like the usual powder residue or oil splattered on the face. Has any of your left handed students had problems in your courses with right handed AR's? Would it be worse in your opinion with an AR-15? Or, is is better to buy a lefty model and if so does the Hoffners Tactical rifle come left handed?
Sorry, about all the questions, but I am in the market for a combat rifle and Ken and Becky's postings really make it sound good to get one. I am just lost on finding objective info in my internet searches

Becky and I have decided to add another Hoff rifle to the family. I've been shooting the SIG 556, but it's being demoted to a car gun. I'll post some issues with the SIG once I get some photos together.
Doug - we will be in Victoria this weekend doing some rifle and pistol work. If you want to shoot the Hoff, SIG, etc. you will be welcome to do so. There may also be other rifles (RR, Bushy, DPMS .308) to shoot and inspect. Hard decision to make, if you can only have one. Becky and Bob are both left handers but shoot rifles right handed. If you want to, PM me your contact info so when we confirm things for this weekend, I’ll get back to you.
