Did they have to kill the dogs?
I have five dogs myself, no kids. I love my dogs more than some people I know. If the mayor turns out innocent in all this it is going to be a bad scene.
This scares me because while I always fully comply with police in traffic stops, as I understand how unnerving it must be to not know who you are pulling over- when it comes to the thought of people busting into my house fighting my dogs... well I’m afraid I wouldn’t care or believe anything they said and a battle would ensue.
If police showed up at my house at the street in marked cars and demanded I come out I would comply fully.
I feel that I am a law abiding citizen, and therefore there is no reason police would break into my house, so I assume anyone breaking in is a home invader. Anyone can claim to be the police...why should I believe them if there is no reason for them to be there and I feel my wife and dogs life is in danger?
Those of you in law enforcement-- Is there a better way for me to look at this? |

The media has been all over this event and there are numerous blog entries. The official position is that this was a 'no knock warrant' situation with unfortunate consequences.
Bottom line, the safety of the officers comes first. |
