Played with a DPMS SASS at a short range. Beautiful gun. Used to have an LTR, great gun (wife forced sale . . . ). Possibly getting a Robar SR-60 new for $1K if I can swing the money I don't have . . .
Would be interested in seeing Brian's class when it gets up. |

Hey Robert,
You might consider Dale Hunnicutt for your Duracoating work. He works with Brian so you could drop it off and pick it up thru his shop,saves a lot on shipping plus better turn around times.
Dale has done hundreds of weapons in the Houston area for many of us and nationwide. Also for guys going to Iraq and Semper Fi can attest to his work as well. Costs are very reasonable, $50.00 a color for handguns and slightly more for long guns (like $75 for the base color,then $60-65 for each additional color).
Give him a call,tell him you train with Brian,and tell him what you are trying to get done. He can do any pattern you want and they look awesome when he is finished. Also,he adds more for the wear areas at no charge.

Tundra makes a valid point as the .260 round is becoming increasingly popular with long distance bench and long distance tactical shooters.
.260 ammuntion is somewhat readily available and has a good range of bullet weights; 85 grain to 160 grain.
The .308 Winchester round (7.62mm x 51mm NATO) has its place in American history and is still one of the most preferred ballistics for good reason.
We all have our preferences and mine is the 7.62 Springfield Super Match MIA for distances up to 700 yards. Past 700 yards and up to 1,200 yards, an accurized 7mm Rem Mag platform (28" barrel) gets the nod.
Check out the ballistics, the (140 grain) .260 round isn't that far below the (140 grain) 7mm Rem Mag round at 500 yards.
DPMS manufactures a solid AR style .260 platform. |
