...as to explain what the Elite Team is and does, and how one gets involved participating with this group?
I am aware of the times they meet, I just don't quite understand what it's all about.
TIA |

The Elite Team sessions are the first Wednesday of each month from 7-9pm at the Top Gun indoor range and each Friday from 6-8pm at Shiloh indoor range. What is covered is 10 timed pistol drills addressing specific target engagement and equipment manipulations. Basically the drills are:
1- from holster single target engagement
2- multiple shots, single target
3- single shots, multiple targets
4- strong hand/weak hand multiple shots, single target
5- tactical reload
6- combat reload
7- while advancing, multiple shots, multiple targets
8- while retreating, multiple shots, multiple targets
9- multiple shots single target
10- from holster multiple shots, single target, induced malfunction
It is a lot of fun and fast paced. |

I have only taken the Tactical Pistol I course so I haven't done some of those drills. Is there any instruction that takes place for those of use who have not experienced some of the drills?
Also, are there groups broken into levels of expertise? I wouldn't want to hold everybody up if the events are timed.
TIA

I really want to get more involved...
I understand that Top Gun had a fire and that most of their bays are damaged. Is the Elite Team still meeting there?

The drills are as Khundog described.
These days (Feb 2010) we meet at Shiloh Gun range near Willowbrook Mall on Friday nights (6:00 to 8:00).
We focus on 10 basic handgun drills, which are the core skills that will make you a better shooter, or help you retain the skills you have.
It's informal, we shoot a lot, and have fun. |

Bring 100 rounds,
and $35 to pay for the range and Instructor, exact cash is prefereed as it makes it easier on the intructor.
Come ready to have fun and improve your overall pistol skills a little at a time until you eventually reach an elite level.
Enjoy!! |
