Amite Lousiana is quickly becomming the proving ground for Hoffner warriors. Tactical Rifle I was attended by a great group of operators. 4 LEO's, 1 FBI, and several responsible citizen warriors enjoyed a fantastic weekend of training dynamically with the rifle. Working the SAT scale from extreme CQB to required precision all operators were able to place themselves properly within the scale and get the hits as fast as possible and accurately as needed. Proper Indexes were built from the ground up with Hoffners system of rifle that equates to the most effective in the world, particularly when combined with Hoffners Mindset principles which are the most nuero-physically advanced training principles available.
I look forward to having this entire group back for Tactical Rifle II and going high speed and dynamic. Great job Hoffner Warriors, Louisiana Branch!
Veryfying zero is job one.
the perfect Zipper

Must say that i thought i knew a little bit about my rifle and with a few years of experience from shooting IPSC, this would a pretty easy course. Well, it wasn't difficult, but it made me rethink the entire shooting process and safety procedures. IPSC does not allow loaded firearms nor do they allow weapons out of holsters except on the line for the active shooter. Spending a day walking around with a rifle strapped to my single point sling, round chambered, and shooting hand properly indexed was new to me, but it was also a new level of respect for all firearms in general.
I also learned the answer to being quick with your gun is to be tactically precise with your shots because a fast miss could get you killed. I managed a .39 second shot from the low ready on day 1, but the hits were all over the paper. The second day i slowed down, thought each shot through, and managed to outshoot a few people in the class by just going as fast as i could score the hits i needed, not being the first to complete the exercise. Remember, hits are what count no matter what distance you are fighting from!!!
I learned some excellent rifle handling skills, learned how to reload and fight through a malfunction under pressure (DPMS rifle was flawless even with my Silver Bear ammo, just had issue with empty mags not dropping free and/or closed bolt with empty chamber a few times), and how to shoot the varying degrees of the SAT scale.
Anyone considering this Level 1 class, DO IT!! It is worth the money, the time, and the ammo!!!
Brian, thanks for the excellent class!!! And Herb, thanks for the excellent meals!!! |
