Would the person who had the little HAM handset at AD last week please provide a link. Brian mentioned we should begin research and a discussion on standardizing comm hardware. Let's make it happen.

Icom IC-T70A dual band handheld HAM radio $ 225.00
RD-98 17" dual band HT antenna $ 27.95
Pryme SPM 1500 QD Mil Std throat mic $ 70.00

Brunton Solaris 26 fold-out solar panel $ 294.00
Also charges car batteries, cell phones, and battery chargers (sold seperately) for CR123a, AA, AAA, C, D, and 9V.

Plus these three cheap parts from Radio Shack:
1-enercell Adaptaplug power cord #273-348
1-enercell Adaptaplug Tip "H" #273-340
1-enercell Adaptaplug Tip "N" #273-345
...allows one to charge the radio via the sun. Just hang the Brunton on your G.O.O.D. bag, and plug in the radio directly using the Adaptaplug. The Brunton soalr panel is flexible, durable, water proof, black and green, and suprisingly non-reflective.

This radio operates simplex (radio to radio for five miles) and duplex (using HAM repeaters across the globe). It can be "opened" to un_licensed portions of the spectrum, which is of course not legal.

It's very easy to get a HAM license. We need to talk about comm frequencies at the next AD.
