In SoSu we prepare for any CQB attack by training with hands, knife, and pistol. American Defenders takes it even further with shotguns, rifles, Go Bags, Load Vests, Gas masks, Deployment Equipment, Team Tactics, Team Operations, etc.

We meet four times a year for a year at Impact Zone in Houston and have a great time training together.

We are the true Team America, and we are prepared, join us.

American Defenders training gets you out of the city and on the range for a full day of focused, individual and group training using pistols, shotguns and rifles. Shooting distances vary from 10 yards to 200 yards and the mid-day break allows the group to kick back and tell war stories.

Brian's American Defenders training focuses on developing and maintaining the Warrior mindset using all weapons, staying physically fit and mentally sharp, knowing your equipment, and being able to stop a threat whenever and however trouble comes your way.

No sugar coating or PC BS here...this is training at its finest.

all of the above, but from a guy with a fast metabolism and fast-depleting blood-sugar, I would love to see a tad bit more of the social, 1-hr warriors' social BBQ come back to American Defenders. as I think of my very 1st American Defenders with Brian and the group - as we all sat around with our gear on and AR rifles still slung in SUL-position while eating, we munched on hot-dogs, brat-worsts, etc... and had a great relaxing feast, until it came time to address threats again @ 50 yds with our pistols, lying on our backs (as an example)... I think of breaking bread with the family on my uncle's farm before I went "exterminating" for him, or having a hearty meal aboard ship before we dropped boats into the water and went out for the night... think back to times in your conscience that you recall - THOSE are the ones that left a lasting impression on you. Whether it be with spouse and family, or fellow warriors or whomever... when you break bread with someone and let down your guard, you have bonded. We modern warriors do not have the luxury of being able to let down our guards during such historically steadfast times of relaxation and, in my opinion, should be capitalized upon when given the chance. It's good for the soul.
I believe there's 2 types of readers to this post: those who roll their eyes at this type of message and those who have been in the arena and, with a sly, evil grin on their face, know exactly what I am talking about, as they recall memories of their own and the soldiers they shared them with.
Hoo-Yah brothers, see you at the next American Defenders.

Specrat I am with you on taking more time to eat and socialize at the American Defenders. It was nice at the last American Defenders when we went to that local Bar/ Restaurant and hydrated...

Hey Brian, when you get a chance would you mind posting information, maybe a separate thread even, about what type starter gear, round amounts, weapons, etc. that would be good for first time attendees to AD (or is it ADAA,lol) meetings ? Procedures on RSVPing and such?
Also, without revealing any ninja secrets of course, maybe a brief description of some of the activities.

We have several members who are getting interested in more than just pistols thru IDPA. With your permission I would like to start directing a few select peeps to this forum. We are all acquiring gear, carbines, and shotguns and I think having an outlet for learning like this would be great for us.
Hopefully though, you don't make anyone wear an AFNG hat or anything....

Thanks as always.

Not to worry, there are no FNGs at American Defenders, only good guys, and all are welcome to the team. We train beyond the traditional. We work as a team and encorporate the team concept of equiping and training. Go to go category Gear Junkie Talk and review layered levels of Go equipmment and that will give you an idea of the equipment. We don't need you fully equiped to get started at American Defenders, we just need you there, you can equip as you go.

When you eat or do other mundane tasks fully geared up you get an additional chance to see what works and what doesn’t. If you are standing guard over your family at home or elsewhere after the SHTF, you will need to be able to do things other than shoot more often than not. Operating with your gear on and weapon nearby builds familiarity.

I can ALWAYS rationalize a good reason to eat! Smile

No running drills right after lunch though!
