At Hoffners we address the load vest primarily through American Defenders where we meet quarterly. We have 4 levels of gear for deploying. Level I is the weapons Belt carrying the minimum required equipment such as pistol, pistol ammo, long gun ammo, and illumination.
Level II is applied with the weapons belt and complements it with additional equipment that is more specific to the mission. I will be talking more about the contents of the Load vest as well as Level III, Three day Pack, and Level IV, Go bag. I will be interested in your input as well so lets hear it. Equipment is the number one criteria for winning, but you gotta have it with you!

being that some of us here are living in or around the "Bayou City", this is good contingency planning. A cheaper alternative may be the USN SAR vest or the ole NAVSPECWAR UDT vest, if you can get your hands on one. They are inflatable using a C02 cartridge and very dependable. glad they didn't want mine back |

Ther is a bonus adapter so you can wear it while Red Fish fishing
without the Molle vest.
which retains all the Tactical fashon. |

All I know is that "Drowning" is one of the many deaths I do NOT want to experience.

I received my Scott promask 40 today from www.fishersci.com
I read in the news that the mayor of New York testified before Congress to reopen the Sept 11 compenstation fund.
Because lots of survivors and rescue workershave come down with lung diseases related to pollutants during escape or searching for survivors.
This is due to not wearing respirators during rescue or escape.
I will not be one of these people. |

The Scott Promask 40 is one of my reccomendations because it works and its affordable. It does'nt have a straw hole but hey, were not going to be lounging in it we are only using it for safe escape. We should all have one, and have it handy.
Be sure to get the CRBN filter not the P100 as it is for particulates only.

| My vest has gone through several evolutions, and it's not done yet. I just can't wait to get to range, and work the bugs out. |

Refining the Load vest along with the three day pack and go bag will again and continually be done at American Defenders sessions. Next one is September 8, 2007 at Impact Zone.

Uzi is right. The shotgun scabbard is in the 3 day pack, although there are molle scabbards that can be attached to the rear of the vest. It would have to be located very stragegically as to not hamper your movement and get hung up on everything. Another nicety is that it will also carry a long blade.

I have the shotgun scabbard comming. The shotgun is one heck of a fighting weapon but just as importantly makes a great breeching tool, but only if we have it with us.
