How do we motivate people to put down the TV remote and get off the couch and learn some skills?

I've tried statistics/news reports with very limited success. Logic doesn't seem to do it.

I hope folks don't have to go through an actual victumization as a wake-up call.

Unfortunately, some people choose to be the sheep. You may be able to help them walk the path of the sheep dog, but ultimately the choice is theirs to make.

People don't wake up in the morning deciding if they will be attacked that day or not. The Sheepdog understands that it is the decision of the wolf and therefore prepares and lives in the yellow. The sheep on the other hand is typically oblivious while going about their day with their head is the sand, or eating grass as I suppose sheep do. There are sheep that have a warrior within, but do not know it. Those are the people we can reach and convert them to the warrior side. The side of ability, confidence, and success. As sheep dogs we will not save the entire flock. Many wish only to be saved when the wolf is at the door and want us to do it for them, well; we have priorities that may not include them. Our loved ones come first. We have to make sheepdogs of our loved ones. We cannot be there for them 24/7. We have to motivate THEM, teach THEM, train THEM, and make them warriors. There are some Hoffner Warriors who have not yet involved their families in the confidence and success that we enjoy, why? We love our spouse, our children; they must be our first converts. If you are reading this and you are one of those then concern yourself with your own flock now, worry about the others next.
We need warriors in America not couch sitting, Frito eating, Telli-tubbies. We need more families of sheep-dog, wolf eating, warriors to lead this country now and in the future.
Remember that when a horrific event takes place the sheep think “Thank God I wasn’t there”
The Sheepdog thinks “If only I could have been there”
There is HERE, and anytime is NOW. Life is not a dress rehearsal. Let’s motivate, train, and kick butt with our lives.

Brian I just jumped off my computer chair and gave a WARRIORS yell waking the rest of the house.Da_n! You motivate the h_ll out of me SIR!I think Im going to take a walk around my Block and make sure no one is kicking dogs,beating women or old folk or any thing like that. Very Happy

I'm in the UK now and long time Scotland Yard contacts advise how street crimes, home invasions, etc. in the UK continue to terrorize citizens since owning/possessing semi-automatic and "c o c k e d weapons" became illegal for public possession and ownership in 1989.

The bad guys are armed with AK-47's, MAC-9's and UZI's while policemen in the UK are not permitted to carry firearms..they carry mace and a small baton.

Let's keep America the land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE and not allow this crap to take hold in the U.S. Let's train, train, train to stay free my fellow WARRIORS!

Its a sad state of affairs when Im teaching 16-to-18 year old kids that have never been off the beaten path, the only excitement they know are video-games,lan parties and TV. You can tell there makeup by the way they walk and the lack of dexterity in there hands,not to mention how unscarred and soft they look. There is hope, when you tell a kid about living in the wilds in Canada or about roaming the jungles in CA and they get a little twinkle in there eyes,Maybe just Maybe there are some of us left to carry on the torch.

Like I said earlier in the thread, we as parents must shape our children for success. We must raise them so that tey are not sissies mentally and physically. There IS hope for the future of family and country but we as families MUST make it happen, again that where it starts and thats where it will continue through generations. Burton, thanks for the work that you are doing with children.. Maybe you can save a few and they in turn will teach their children.

Hoff, thanks for the inspiration. My youngest is 15 and he's been working out of a holster for two years now. Just had a bunch of boyscouts out a couple days ago and they where really digging it.

Hoffners Shotgun training will certainly make some powerful sheepdogs, problem is we just did Tactical Shotgun i & II a couple weeks ago. We will do it again in the spring of 08. Make sure that you go to www.hoffners.com and print the registration form with your name on the referral line as you receive a $50.00 referral fee for any new student that you refer.
