I've been a 511 guy for years but I sure am liking these Woolrich Tactical Pants. Lots of pockets including the coveted cellphone/knife pocket on BOTH legs. We pressured them to make them in Navy Blue for Police and they listened, now I am going to see if they have the fade problems that I had with the 511 navy blues. They seem to be well made, anybody else have an opinion on them?

The "ONE WARRIOR ALL WEAPONS" limited edition Polo is a beautiful shirt. With the Academy logo embroidered on the front and the ONE WARRIOR on the back of the high quality solid black shirt. It cost as much to make as I can sell it $35 so it probably wont be made again but I still have most sizes avaliable in it for now.
Glad you like it.

Please ask Cecil to hold two (2) XL polos for me and I'll get them from Cecil this evening at Elite.
Thank you,

Hoff,
John C. had a pair of utility trousers at SG Tactical II that we were made of material identical to those issued to us in SE Asia for jungle duty.
The material is ultra-light weight nylon, tougher than standard utility uniform material, gets wet fast and dries out fast as well.
Have you seen this jungle ute material available to the private sector?

Just came from LA Police Gear. They have some closeouts on 511 but not on Woolrich, guess I missed the sale. You can still get a mug with your pants if that is any consolation.

Semper Fi,
The material that you are referring to is called Rip-Stop. They were very lightweight cotton that dried really fast to help prevent jungle rot of your skin. It is the milspec 100% cotton the our BDU uniforms were made out of for those of us who were stationed in the far east. The square rip-stop pattern was suppossed to do just that "stop Rips" But thank goodness I had a good houseboy in the barracks cause mine were always ripped from thigh to shin ( too much bustin jungle and low crawling). We called them Jungle Fatigues. You can still get them from various suppliers. See them at www.propper.com/

Hoff,
Thank you for the information on Rip-Stop material. This is excellent hot weather, rough terrain material. I'll shop the market for tactical apparel made of Rip-Stop and will post research results on the Forum.
Many thanks. |

Hoff,
I've searched the market and your reference to www.propper.com has the best selection and prices for RipStop and NIR (Near Infrared Signature) fatigues.
NIR developments have accelerated and NIR fatigues and equipment are becoming mainstream. Operators should get up to speed on NIR technology ASAP.
Thanks for the reference to Propper. |
