Hey knife makers, I know people love gadgets, assisted openings, etc. But PLEASE keep making the simple liner lock! In my program our primary knife hand is our pistol support hand which means we open with a gravity flip. With no assisted opener we have an incredibly fast presentation/deployment of the knife even when our strong hand is occupied with the pistol. We don't need gadgets, we don't need the lip of our pocket to open the knife for us, we have skills that we depend on, so keep providing us true knife warriors with a well made liner lock with a good belt clip at the axis...thanks

Thanks for showing us the Dejavoo by Benchmade at SOSU last sunday.
My linerlock Gerber has served me well but it is time to move on.
I have a Benchmade and a Cold Steel that are axial lock.
They are good knives but they don't lend themselves very well to weak side carry nor to our tactics.
I have had them open in my pocket so I had to take them out of service.
Plus untrained coworkers get alarmed when I whip out a 4 inch Cold Steel knife with a tanto tip to cut the tape holding a box closed. |

Good training replaces gadgets and SoSu has guided your way. Liner locks allow the clip to be at the axis end where axis locks usually require the clip to be at butt end altering the pocket ready grip to somthing less favorable. In the end, good training wins.

I like fixed blades myself but when carrying concealed the folder is excellent. The liner locks the blade open with a titanium (usually) liner on the inside of the grip panel. It has spring tension on it so that it locks behind the blade. The blade will not close until the liner is manually moved over allowing the blade to close. In my program this is al done easily with one hand.
