If your job description is "one shot one kill" at 1,000 yards, use a bolt action weapon. Bolt action receivers are tighter than semi-autos and keep more gun powder energy behind the projectile.

Semi-automatic long rifles with high capacity mags like the Springfield M1A are excellent at laying down long range, high rate fire and are effective out to about 800-900 yards. Past 900 yards the 168g .308 Winchester round starts to rapidly lose energy and velocity.

I am tightening up my Armorlite AR-10, 8/32 optics, 24 inch barrel, Harris Bipod. It shoots very well (understatement) and the 20 round clip makes is serious firepower. I need to change to a stock that has a cheek rest and want to Dura Coat it.

I need to train more with my sniper rifle and have been neglecting it. Brian was talking about possibly doing a precision rifle class in South Texas. Sign me up Brian!

Has Hoffner Training Academy offered long distance training (breathing techniques, making the 700 yard shot, etc.) to the private sector?
Let's discuss...

Clips are what women use in their hair and what office workers use to hold paper together.
Magazines are inserted into weapons and hold rounds.
