I just wanted to hand out an Atta-boy to Tapco
Last year in a rifle practice session, I was running and tripped. In falling I landed on the rifle and I broke the pin in my Tapco folding stock. I also broke the part of the stock that goes into the rear of the receiver but I didn’t realize it at the time. I called Tapco to buy another pin. I was very clear to let them know that I had purchased the stock from a local gunsmith and not directly from them. I also told them how I broke the stock and that it was totally my fault, not theirs. They said “No problem, it is still under warranty” and they sent me a new and improved version of the hinge pin. I installed the pin and the front part of the block promptly broke off. Another call to Tapco and another free part was on its’ way, postage paid. I offered to pay the postage and they turned me down.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a Tapco AK pistol grip from Copes. The part came in but without the bolt that holds it in. I called Copes a little after 4 PM Houston time and left them a detailed message with my name, phone number and the pertinent details. It has been at least two weeks and I have not received a call from Copes. On a Monday, a few days after my call to Copes, I called Tapco and explained that I had ordered a part and told them from whom. Again I was told “Don’t worry, we’ll send you the missing bolt. I had the bolt by Friday of the same week.
If you need a gun part and a Tapco part is an option, you can rest assured that their customer service is excellent. |
